- Browsing Whyte Avenue ( 82 nd Avenue)
- Painting ceramics at Crankpotson Whyte Avenue.
- Visiting the Strathcona Farmer’s Market (just north of Whyte Avenue)

- Visiting Ikea’s marketplace in South Edmonton Common, 1311 – 102 St.
- The latest exhibit or event at the Telus World of Science Centre. IMAX Theatreat the same site.
- Theatres - Citadel, (Downtown)or Roxy, (124 St) or Varscona( Whyte Ave)or Stage West ( West End) is always fun.
- A tour of the Legislature Buildingand Grounds and wading in the fountains (if it is warm enough)
- A visit to the Edmonton Queen (River Boat) if the ice is off the river and the boat is running.
- A tour of the Edmonton Flying Club or the Edmonton Garrison at CFB Edmonton (sometimes they have open house days).
- Picnics at Hawrelak Park or Laurier Park.
- Fort Edmonton Park
- Saskatchewan Drive provides a lovely view and skyline of the city especially at night.
- Provincial Archives of Alberta in south Edmonton to see the exhibits and browse the store for Alberta history books and archival supplies, and if you have time, you can even research your family tree. The Archives is open on Tuesday through Saturday from 9 am to 4:30 pm and Wednesday from 9 am to 9 pm. It is closed on Sunday and Monday.

- City Market on 104th Street (Saturdays)
- Muttart Conservatory
- For the golfer Rundle Par Three executive course can start at 7:00 and end by 8:30 (it is 18 holes but 9 is good after work)
- Parks and River Valley Trails - for those who like to jog, walk, canoe, etc. It is a short walk from downtown and extremely beautiful.
- MacDonald Drive between 101 St. and 100 St. - Fantastic views of the river valley, heritage displays, and a short walking trail down the hill.
- Walk across High Level Bridge to 109 St. and University of Alberta or take the Antique Trolley Car across the top of the High Level Bridge.
- Pool in front of City Hall - Cooling and energizing on a warm, sunny day.
