Note that the application deadline is April 01, 2011

TAB and ARMA Canada are pleased to announce the first annual TAB Young Professional Award of Excellence and Leadership Training Sponsorship, which will recognize the accomplishments of young Canadian professionals in the Records and Information Management field.

Award of Excellence

“We believe it is essential to foster and encourage the growth of strong leaders. The Award is meant to celebrate an up-and-coming records management practitioner who has shown an exemplary commitment to their career,” says Ross Nepean, Vice-President of Marketing at TAB.

In order to nominate a Young Professional for the award, applicants must:

1. Ensure nominee is under the age of 35 or been in the field for five years or less

2. Ensure nominee is an ARMA Canada member in good standing

3. Submit a letter outlining the nominee’s career accomplishments and chapter participation

4. Provide reference letters from chapter members

Details of how to nominate a young professional is located in this pdf.

Leadership Training Sponsorship

Along with the Award of Excellence, TAB will be sending up to five RIM professionals for special mentorship sessions prior to the ARMA Canada Conference as part of the Leadership Training Sponsorship. Participants will have the opportunity to work closely with leading records management professionals and learn industry best practices. They will receive $1,200 to cover transportation and accommodation costs.

“We’ve always valued TAB as a company and we’re proud to partner with them on this exciting endeavor. The Sponsorship allows us to help outstanding RIM professionals grow by providing them with essential career and personal development opportunities. We also want to give them the tools they’ll need to manage a Canadian Region chapter one day,” says Bernita Cogswell, Region Manager, ARMA Canada

Potential sponsorship candidates must:

1. Must be a young professional (see criteria listed above)

2. Submit a written statement indicating how they will benefit from attending the leadership training sessions

3. Provide reference letters from their Region Coordinator and/or Chapter President

Applications for both the Award and Sponsorship are due on April 1, 2011.
